Make Reservations For Hotel In Advance

There is one thing you should do if you are going to Florida for Spring break.

You need to make reservations for your hotel accommodations in advance because of the idea that so many do go to Florida for Spring break and there are literally times when you won't find a hotel room and then other arrangements have to be made.

There are some hotels along the beach area in Southern Florida, however the rates for these rooms are higher because they are within walking distance to the beach and the prices will be a bit more. Many students who are planning to go to Florida for Spring break will actually have made their hotel reservations a month before.

Many of the hotels in Florida are four and five star rated hotels and have many accessories. Some of the hotels are equipped with fitness centers, spas, restaurants, pools, and so much more. There are hotels within blocks of each other so this only lets you know that there are many to choose from, however there are many students who go to Florida for Spring break.

Not all of the Spring breaks for students are exactly at the same time but they are pretty close, and some hotels offer discounts for returning visitors or spring break students. Additionally if there are a group of students going to Florida for Spring break the some hotels will offer a group discount for co many in the group and this makes it easier on the students too. Some of the hotels also offer breakfast as well as other different programs.

The hotels that overlook the beaches in Florida are a bit more expensive as stated above however these hotels are highly rated hotels and there are different things you can do at these hotels, some have even got golf courses on the grounds of the hotel and others have night clubs within walking distance as well if the students want that "night on the town" without having to go far from the hotel.

Students who are planning on staying in Florida for spring break will start making their reservations and different hotels right after Christmas. This might sound odd but that's how busy it gets in Florida during Spring break and the closer it gets the rates for the hotel rooms will go up. They can cost any where from $80.00 a night to $125.00 and this is for the luxurious hotels, but this is also because of Spring break, this is also why most of the students who are planning to go spend spring break as a group. This way the students are able to somewhat share the expenses and still have some funds left over to have a good time. By sharing the expenses the students also have the opportunity to do things they would not have been able to do like take wind surfing lessons or other things they can do while on their Spring break. The whole idea of this, is to save some money.

Different Places You Can Go On Your Spring Break In Florida

There are so many different places where you can go, and places you can see while on your spring break in Florida, the list just goes on and on. However, after doing some research we came up with a few that were really great places a person would want to go.

For example, just to name off a few are Pensacola Beach, Daytona Beach, Miami, The Florida Keys, and many more places. A variety of beaches, sunshine filled days and many people who love to play in the sand and surf the ocean waves of Florida.

It is no natural wonder that Florida is known as the sunshine state, and with good reason; there is a lot of sunshine. If it does rain, its more of a spring shower that quickly ends and the sun shines once more. The Florida Keys has many different places to shop and eat as well as learn more about Florida. Many people come here during the spring break season simply because it is a refreshing and relaxing experience for them.

Another great pastime is walking along miles of beach looking at the different shaped seashells and sand dollars that are washed onto the shores from the endless waves of the mighty ocean. You can also look to the horizon of the ocean in many areas and see shrimp boats as well as sail boats, sailing is another fun thing to do If you know how. There are also boat rentals and other things to do as well.

A lot of students and parents of younger students who take their children to Florida for spring break it is like paradise, so many things to do and see and there never seems to be enough hours in a day to see it all. By the end of the day many are ready for their head to hit the pillow, however for college students this is another time when the fun is just beginning, this is the time when the night clubs and other restaurants are just opening and the nightlife begins.

A lot of people can't understand what makes these college students all wind up in Florida however the college students all know why, it's a great get away putting it plain and simple, and they would much rather go here than anywhere else. In fact some enjoy it so much if they are unable to go to Florida for their spring break they will decide ultimately not to go anywhere and spend their spring break on campus or at their home with their families.

In many cases however, by students going in groups now there are ways they can afford to go to Florida for spring break. They initially try not to let the higher gas prices and airfare travel expenses get to them; some often get part time jobs in order to be able to go to Florida for spring break. And when they return they Will quit the part time job and focus more on their studies.

Spring Break In Florida Versus California

There are about eight students who all go to the church I go to. These students all attend the University of Arkansas and they all agree that when it comes to their Spring break they would rather go to Florida than to California.

For one, the distance is taken into consideration and the price to get there would be so much, and another thing they spoke of was the time it would take to get there. Many students I found out do not like to fly in airplanes as much anymore due to the fact that they are somewhat leery of what could or might happen if they did fly.

Many of the students from the University of Arkansas go to Florida every year and stay in the same hotel. They said it was almost like a ritual to them now and even though a few of their college friends have graduated and moved on they still go about their spring break in Florida the same way.

Another reason for these students saying Florida is definitely better than going to California actually had nothing to do with expenses. It had to do with earthquakes. The students said they knew at least in Florida they would have that peace of mind and be able to relax and have a blast during their spring break without having to worry about the ground moving or shaking under them.

California has great beaches too, but another thing they look at is the idea that the weather has been so weird lately that California is still somewhat cool during the time of their spring break, whereas in Florida it is pretty nice, and there's usually a southern wind that blows in from the ocean, depending where in Florida you are at.

Two of the eight students from the University of Arkansas have gone to California during a spring break and they both agreed they didn't have as much fun as they do in Florida. There is more to do and it is not as congested during that time of year according to them. They are both graduating this year and said their last spring break is definitely going to be in Florida there was no doubt about that. California didn't have a chance. The sand in Florida is much cleaner and so is the ocean water from their point of view.

However, the students all agreed if you haven't ever been to California for spring break you should at least try it one time, then you would definitely see the difference and plan on going to Florida for your next spring break because you will realize the atmosphere and different things you can do in Florida outweigh the things you can do while you were in California. Amusement parks, scuba diving, surfing, and so much more. Because the weather is usually warmer. Considering spring break is usually around March the wind is still pretty cool in California but it is not that way in Florida and no one likes the weather putting a damper on their fun.

Spring Break In Daytona Beach

Daytona Beach is just another great place among those taking their spring break and want to enjoy a really great time. There are a lot of things to do and a lot of things to see while in Daytona Beach.

For example, there are many historical sites to take in while you are at Daytona Beach, and there are museums you can visit too. But for most of the students and parents with younger students the main attraction of course is the beach itself.

The wind in Daytona isn't really strong as with some of the other beaches in Florida basically because it is located on the east side of Florida, however there is still that southern wind that it warm that you can feel occasionally.

Among the many attractions at Daytona Beach one can't forget of course the Daytona International speedway. Although not always in use there are times when drivers practice on the track.

On Daytona Beach you can also enjoy the waterslides or go deep-sea fishing and see what you can catch. There are scenic rides you can take or even rent bikes to take out on your own.

Something else that is a cool thing to see is the giant flea market on Daytona Beach. There are endless numbers of vendors and their items are unique and sometimes only found in Florida. So if you were looking for souvenirs then this would definitely be the place where you could find them. It literally takes hours to walk through all the vendors and there are food stands too.

For the most part however, obviously you will see many of those who are on their spring break waiting for a wave to surf or a seashell to find. While others are actually doing sand sculptures which is popular at Daytona beach too.

It's a great way to get a tan and have a great time in the process. Hotel accommodations are fairly reasonable. Group rates usually run cheaper than other rates and this is why the students try to get together and go as a group. Some of the students even take tents because they enjoy camping and hiking.

There are places in Daytona Beach that allow hiking and camping as well as fishing and other recreational activities as well. Although students who go to Daytona Beach Florida for spring break sometimes wind up in other areas of Florida as well such as Pensacola or the Florida Keys as well.

If this is the case, these are usually the students who have brought camping and hiking gear and are not staying at one hotel. These students also go to the beaches and enjoy the sun and scenery. In some situations some rare types of seashells or other items are found and saved.

At Daytona beach you also have the opportunity to go on hot air balloon rides if you have the courage, these rides aren't expensive and allow you to see the beach from a different perspective. Also, you can watch skydivers that practice in nearby Daytona. There are too many different activities to actually list for Daytona Beach however, it is a good spot to go to if you are going on your spring break in Florida.

The Hot Spot For Spring Break In Florida

I didn't know there could be such a place, however believe it or not there is. And this place that so many students flock to during spring break is Pensacola Beach.

So why Pensacola beach? For most students it is close to everything. The hotels, the restaurants, night clubs and bars, tourists attractions but of course the main and best part the beach. The sand is said to be a light color and not so dark as those of other beaches in Florida so this is why many of the students wind up in Pensacola Beach for their spring break.

There are literally hundreds of college kids around this "hot spot" during spring break and in many situations most of them reunite with college students from other states that they haven't seen since the last spring break and it's a really cool experience for them.

The college students spend their days on the beaches and shopping and their nights in the nightclubs and other restaurants; leaving the cares of exams and mid terms behind for a few days. This can get expensive however many of the students will get hotel room accommodations together while others will share rental car expenses if they have flown to Florida for their spring break. If not, then the gas expenses are shared depending on the students preferences. Either way there is not a minute that goes by where they aren't able to have a really good time and make a memory that lasts a lifetime. Students who go to Pensacola don't even want to check out the other beaches in Florida although they are sure the other beaches are ok to, its just that Pensacola is somewhat in the center of the state and where as they put it "all the action is."

Of course spring break is usually in or around the month of March and some of the nights are cooler nights but it doesn't matter once the sun comes up in Pensacola and the heat pours it on.

Many of the students return from spring break with tans and look dark, and it seems weird to some of their other room mates and class mates from college who chose other places to go during spring break. Many of the students who go to Pensacola beach Florida for spring break will ultimately reserve a room for the next spring break, yes that far in advance. Then if something comes up they have the ability to call and cancel their reservations. Many of the students do this because Pensacola, Florida is so popular many of the college students all over the United States choose here to go for their Spring Break.

The beaches are literally lined during spring break with beach towels, chairs, volleyball nets, and at night some even find some dry drift wood for a little fire. The students really enjoy Pensacola and would recommend it as a place to go for spring break if you have never had the opportunity to be there.

Getting To Florida By Carpooling

For many of the students planning their trip the gas prices can get expensive. And the gas stations and companies seem to raise gas prices some during this time just as they would if it were during the holiday season.

So, those going to Florida for spring break and have to go a fair distance will all decide to go in a group with one vehicle and therefore share the expense of spending gas money. This is a good idea and often times you will see two or three vehicles of students going to the same destination but sharing the expenses of gas along the way.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with this and some of the students say they save a lot more in gas than if they would have driven to Florida on their own instead of as a group. There are however drawbacks to carpooling there are a few more stops than usual and some times with luggage it might be a bit more crowded, however for the most part once they get to Florida the trip was well worth it and carpooling was not all that bad.

Some parents like this idea better as well because they feel as though the students are safer in groups than if they were traveling alone, like if the vehicle happens to break down or they need some type of road side assistance so in this case scenario is gives parents peace of mind as well.

The carpooling option was even thought about until gas prices began to rise in the late 1990's that is when the concept of carpooling came in play as students sharing the expenses.

There is another advantage to carpooling the students who are planning their spring break in Florida trip by carpooling and that is actually getting there ahead of schedule and having more time to actually spend in Florida. This is simply because by carpooling they are able to share the driving and take turns so no one gets tired while driving and it makes it easier to reach their destination safer but also sooner.

With the numerous availability of cell phones it is easy for one car to keep in contact with the car behind them or in front of them if the students have taken more than one car. This is another advantage in the sense that if they get hungry or one needs to stop for fuel then a simple cell phone call lets the others know so they will all ultimately stop. The students always have great time carpooling to get to Florida for spring break and many say that it is just as fun as when they get to Florida for spring break.

Most of the students going simply want to get away and it really doesn't bother them how they get there, and if they can save a little money in the process then that's cool too.

The only problem one might encounter with this is if there were an emergency within the family while the student was on spring break but that problem they say is usually solved by simply buying a plane ticket home.

Why Do Students Pick Florida For Spring Break

There are many reasons why students decide to go the Florida for Spring break but according to some people I know they said they went to Florida because its usually warm during the spring break months and that was the biggest reason.

While others I talked to say they went to Florida because they loved the beach and the sand. These are youth from the church I attend and they were more than happy to tell me about their trip. According to the students the worst part of the trip to Florida was all being in the SUV. Although most of them laughed about it when they spoke of it.

Apparently someone needed to make a pit stop, other than this the trip was a blast. The students said they also pick Florida a lot because it's become like a hang out, the place for spring break. They reunite with other students that go to different schools once a

year and they really like this. Florida is also surrounded by water on three sides so the students all agree they have several different places where they can catch the sand and sun. Some of them even attempt to surf though most of them agree they aren't very good at it. A few of the students play guitar and the comment they had was that in Florida the sky seems different at night when they are playing their guitars. I don't know if this is true or not, but to them it is.

Also, by going to Florida isn't like going overseas, though some students do and even though a lot of people really don't consider this however the students do, they said since nine eleven there is that doubt that sticks in their mind, and as long as

its pretty much a group of them they know in Florida they will have a better chance at being able to have a really good time.

As far as driving this isn't a problem either, someone always volunteers a vehicle and they usually go with whichever one has the most room. Florida is an all around great place for spring break, the students feel like not only do they get away from the ordinary, but they also get to see some of their friends from different parts of the United States. Some as far as Minnesota, although there have been a few that have met up in Florida for Spring break that were from as far away as Oregon. Florida is appealing is what all the students say.

Each year as the students make their plans for Spring break the usual destination is always Florida. This is just the place where the students feel they can escape from all their studies and hang out among those of their own age. Without dealing with the pressures of mid terms, or parents, and anything else that crowds their minds during the time that they aren't on their spring break, so to them Florida is their retreat and the love it.

Spring Break In Florida Has Suffered Decline

According to statistics over the last three to five years there has been a significant decline in the number of people going to Florida for spring break. Some are blaming it on the economy while others say it is the gas prices being so high that almost make it impossible for anyone to go very far.

Of course this makes it difficult for the businesses and tourists attractions in Florida as a lot of them rely on the students and families that visit Florida during the spring break months and if they don't go then ultimately these places in Florida can feel if financially. Most of the tourist attractions, shopping stores, restaurants, and hotels try to stay within a competitive range during this time of year however, there are some who will charge more or less, just to get people interested in the idea of taking their spring break in Florida.

In fact, some travel agencies have started to offer package deals during the spring break and going to Florida such as airfare, hotel accommodations, and other interesting things to entice those who would like to go to Florida to spend their spring break vacation.

Some people used to think that California was the place to go for spring break, however according to statistics Florida has always overcome that theory. White sandy beaches and so many things to do. Florida doesn't get really cold, though at times there are what residents in Florida call " thin jacket weather." But rather than that it is usually a warm place to spend your spring break.

However business and restaurant owners will all admit over the last few years during the spring break vacation there haven't been as many visitors and tourists as there have been in the past and many who don't stay as long even if they do make the spring break trip to Florida, some feel as if the parents just can't afford to stay away from working that long there are finances that must be met.

Still others blame the decline on the war in Iraq, and this could very well play a role in the decline as far as the amount of visitors who take the trip or it could be that financially not as many people can afford it right now. The businesses and restaurants of course hope this is only a temporary phase because they feel Florida is a great place to spend spring break.

College students who still go to Florida for spring break don't spend as much according to statistics either; they don't stay in hotels, as often and in some cases the campsites and other near by places close to the beach will fill up with small campers and tents. So at least people are still going to Florida for spring break just to get away.

College students feel that when they have upcoming exams or mid terms going to Florida for spring break gives them at least some peace, even if it is only for a few days. And this is all they really need.

Spring Break In The Florida Keys

Although there are some who spend their spring break in The Florida Keys there are many more who spend their spring break in other parts of Florida. The reason for this after doing a bit of research is simply because most of the Florida keys are resorts and different accommodation styles.

However it is a great place to go site seeing and some of those on spring break will travel just to see the attractions such as Key Largo, and Islamorada. Or possibly the lower keys. This is also a good place for scuba diving as the water is very clear. Deep-sea fishing is also something that is done quite often in the Florida Keys.

Sombrero reef which is a federally protected area in North America has the only living coral reef that is only a few miles offshore near the Florida straits and there are tourists that come to see this as well.

Another attraction that brings those to Florida for spring break is speed boat racing just off of the Florida Keys. The speed boats are very fast and almost a blur to spectators as they fly through the water, however they are fun to watch and many do this everyday.

Sailing in Florida is an official pastime along with snorkeling and if this is something you like to do there are rental equipment for snorkeling or diving and as far as sailing there are tours available if you are not that skilled in sailing on your own.

In the water you will find jet skis of all types and the scenery is simply known as a water world experience. There are so many different types of water recreational attractions and things to do they couldn't possibly be listed completely. There are however several websites you can go to for Florida to find out more about the sunshine state and all of its attractions, where to stay, and a lot of other details. Those who stay during spring break have nine times out of ten been to Florida before and would not pick any other place to spend their spring break. Its warm, and there is so much a person can do. The only problem for the students is that spring break just doesn't last quite long enough for them.

Inevitably, the students have to return after spring break to their mid terms, exams, and higher education, however believe it or not some of them actually make reservations for the next spring break. Those who go in groups all get together and see who can be there next year and who can't.

Many times there are students from other states also spending their spring break in Florida and they meet up with their old friends, it's a chance for them to catch up on what's been going on throughout their college or high school years. College students come from Montana, Michigan, Oregon, and many other states on spring break and they all get together with people they have met the year before that are from different states. Florida is a great place for spring break and I don't think there are many that would dispute that. There are good hotel accommodations, great restaurants and attractions, sailing and water attractions, but most important beaches!

Not All Going To Florida For Spring Break Are Students

There are many people who choose the Spring Break period to go on vacation with their children. These are those who are in middle school, junior high, and elementary.

As a result the parent work their schedules at their jobs to where they are able to take their children to Florida over their spring break for many reasons and one is so it is a family event. There are many places in Florida where you can enjoy many things, not just the beaches, however the beaches are fun as well.

Hotel accommodations are of course somewhat higher during this time however the parents feel as if this isn't a problem when they consider the time together a family event and something they can all do together. While some take their vacations in the summertime when school aged children are out for the summer they feel places like Florida are congested and it makes it easier to go during the spring break.

There are many attractions to see in Florida for parents and children young and old. Parents love to take their children site seeing in Florida as well as to the amusement parks and small fairs along different boulevards. Many times the restaurants offer free meals to children that are under a certain age and this is a part of the vacation that the parents enjoy too. Most of the time however, children love to go to the beaches.

Many parents feel as if a child's favorite pastime on a Florida beach is picking up the beautiful seashells and other items such as clamshells or anything else that has washed ashore. Of course one cannot forget the idea that making sand castles in the sand isn't a favorite past time as well for the children. To the parents the Spring Break vacation is just enough time to enjoy a few days from the hectic paced world they live and yet enough of a break to be reenergized and ready to get back to work, and the children to get back in school.

If there are older children that are capable of babysitting the younger siblings at the hotel, this also gives the parents the opportunity at the end of the day to enjoy a quiet dinner on the town seeing the different places of splendor while in Florida. The children usually who have had a fun filled day, are asleep before their heads hit the pillows. This of course gives mom and dad a night to remember as their spring break vacation with their children. So in many ways going as a family to Florida during the Spring break has its benefits.

Of course the only setback parents encounter is when spring break will soon be over and the trip home is upon them. Many children don't want to leave Florida and for some children, as well as the adults they somewhat dread the trip back in the car. The trip to Florida is a lot more exciting that the trip home and there is simply no denying that fact, even for students who go to Florida for spring break.
