Babysitters are provided on some cruise lines, which can be ideal when the parents need a night away, and discount rates are often offered if you book a party in advance. Why not celebrate your child's birthday by inviting his or her friends on a day-long cruise, complete with a clown party or a roller-skating derby? It'll be a birthday to remember for years to come.

In a world that is moving faster and becoming more driven than ever before, the growth of the cruise industry is hardly surprising. People love the idea of being able to float out to sea for awhile and have everything they need for weeks of entertainment right on board with them. As cruise ships become ever more popular, and as more people finally sign up to take those dream vacations, we're discovering new reasons to celebrate. And that's a very good thing.
