COSI is located at 333 West Broad Street in Columbus, Ohio. Within a three block radius, 10,000 parking spaces are available, so you shouldn't have any problem with parking. COSI has seven areas for exhibits, Life, Ocean, Gadgets, Little Kids Space, Progress, Space, and a temporary exhibit area.
Where in the world did a name like COSI come from? COSI is pronounced coe-sigh and stands for Center Of Science and Industry. COSI devotes 100,000 square feet of space solely to hands-on exhibits. The focus of COSI in Columbus is education and fun. The COSI staff know that learning is fun, and we all learn more when we can delve into topics through interactive exhibits. COSI has more than 300 displays and exhibits to allow guests to interact and learn. A program called COSI on Wheels brings COSI into the classrooms around Ohio. Students participate with hands-on activities to bring science to life. More than 5 million students and teachers have participated in outreach programs over the last 40 years.
Standard admission to COSI is $12.50 for adults. Children under 2 are free. Some special admission prices may be available for active military, seniors, or teachers. Contact COSI for more details. AAA members will receive $1 off the regular admission price.
COSI has a terrific store and movie theatre available to visitors. Guests may visit the Science
Go! Store and The Atrium without purchasing admission tickets. The Atomicafe
Is also free of charge to guests during regular business hours. Visitors interested in Extreme Screen Theatre tickets must purchase them from the COSI Box Office.
During your visit to COSI, you can help Bob the Builder, learn about the properties of water, or travel back in time to learn all about the budding technology of yesteryear. This museum will have children of all ages acting more like scenes from an amusement park than the hum drum attitudes of typical museum tours.
Little Kids Space offers young children the opportunity to experiment with science on their own level. Age appropriate activities will delight even the youngest of science fans. For moms and dads, lounges and diaper changing stations are also available in this area of COSI.
